We’re Married!

The wedding was even more beautiful than we imagined! We both keep looking back over the weekend and are overwhelmed with thankfulness to have the tireless assistance and support of our bridal party, closest friends and family. The past few weeks have been the happiest of our lives. We’re now back from our perfect honeymoon, and with the exception of the -15 degree windchill, we’re excited to be back in Chicago, setting up a home and getting started in “normal” life.

I’m sure we’ll have much to share in person. Meanwhile, please enjoy the following photo highlights from our incredibly helpful and talented friends at Simply Jessie Photography.

First Look on Miami stormy beach.

We did not have the time we wanted at the beach and literally went running when we felt the first few rain drops. We traded in a stormy beach for beautiful for lush tropical green next door to their ceremony site.

The candlelit ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Spanish Monestary under this beautiful tree.

DURING the ceremony , this racoon was hovering over Ashley and Philip.Thanks goodness he stayed put!

The new Mr. and Mrs!!

Dinner was served in the cloisters surrounded by beautiful vaulted ceilings and old stone.

Then the party really got going!

Invitations & Updates

Hi friends! Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Here’s a few important updates to our website:

First off, we’ve created a new Travel Accomodations page to answer your travel and coordination questions.
Second, we’re updated the online Registries after being given grief and input from a few of our friends.
Lastly, the official invitations are finally at the printers getting produced… look for them in the next 10-12 days.

About Us

He: Philip is a creative entrepreneur who has been in the design and marketing business for himself for nine years. His strengths lie in helping individuals and businesses find their voice and unique identity, although this skill does not translate into being able to purchase his own shoes or clothing in any decisive manner. He is characterized by his extreme optimism, good nature, and rambunctious energy levels, and he would likely surprise you with his skills at salsa dancing. Soon after meeting Ashley, he no longer relied upon the empty Lean Cuisine packaging as his dinner companion, which makes Philip quite pleased. Ashley wishes Philip didn’t love watching futuristic action movies as much as he does.

She: Ashley is in her first year of residency in Internal Medicine at Swedish Covenant Hospital, and she loves practicing medicine and has dreamed of serving underserved populations both in the city and overseas. She loves travelling and medical mission work in Africa, and she knew Philip was the right man for her because she prefers him to even ice cream. She has a mean scrabble game and loves cooking for her man, although sometimes she has to be satisfied with just eating with him at the hospital cafeteria. Philip wishes Ashley didn’t love watching Jane Austen movies as much as she does.

Engagement Party

Well, the engagement party was a blast! Thanks so much to all of you who came out. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and Sura Thai Bistro did a great job of taking care of us.

Ashley and I had a lot of fun hopping from table to table. (It was probably a good trial run for the wedding.) Here’s a few photos from the party, courtesy of Joe Henske.

After extensive searching, we’ve settled on an excellent spot for the ceremony and reception!

It will take place at an incredibly unique, historic location – the ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach.

Getting Here
Because this site is about an equal distance from either Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, it makes for easy travel out of either city’s airport. Go with what is most convenient and cost-effective for you.
